Enhanced usernames for Grid contacts
This release introduces enhanced username uniqueness rules across all Review UI environments (US, EU, IN). Usernames must now be unique in all regions and can be up to 245 characters long. This change helps to prevent security incidents and avoid data loss.
- Extended Character Limit: The username character limit has been increased to 245 characters, ensuring compatibility with a broader range of identity providers and naming conventions.
- Improved Consistency: This update ensures consistent username handling across Grid interfaces and downstream systems. Duplicate usernames across regions will not be allowed.
- Error messaging:
- If you create a duplicate username within the same region, you will receive the error message:
User Name is in use. Please chose another User Name. Suggested User Name: (unique username).
- If you create a username in use in another region, you will receive the error message:
User Name is in use, Please chose another User Name
- If you create a duplicate username within the same region, you will receive the error message:
Users must ensure that usernames are unique and adhere to the new character limit when creating or updating user profiles. Enhanced username handling in Grid is supported for both SSO and non-SSO contact types.
