Resize table columns to fit your data

You can now set your own column widths in tables that shorten long values. Previously, a value too wide for its column was shortened and readable only by hovering over the cell.

  • Drag a column border to make that column wider or narrower. Columns you have not touched keep their current widths, and if the table becomes wider than the space available, a horizontal scrollbar appears.
  • Any value or column heading that still does not fit is shortened with an ellipsis and shows in full on hover. Widen the column enough and the value displays in full with no tooltip.
  • The widths you set are remembered the next time you sign in from the same browser. They do not carry over to a different browser or device, to a private/incognito window, or if you clear your browser data.

This applies to tables that display a name, username, Tracking ID, or Reporting ID and shorten long values today. Tables on the Alert Decisioning dashboard are not included.

Ignore parenthesized text in person names

Your firm can now opt in to having parenthesized text removed from person names before matching, so that screening focuses on the main part of the name. This is useful where the text in parentheses is redundant with the name or holds non-name detail, such as a nickname, suffix, title, status, jurisdiction, or a reference or account number.

How the option works

  • With the option on, only the name outside the parentheses is searched.
  • With it off, which is the default, both forms are searched: the name with the parenthesized text removed, and the name with those words included as ordinary name parts. Because both forms are now searched, you may see some additional matches for names containing parentheses even without enabling the option. Nothing that matched before is lost.
  • If a name consists only of parenthesized text, the parentheses are removed and the text inside is still used for matching.

The option applies to person names only. Organization name handling is unchanged, and bracket handling is unaffected. It applies to both initial screening and Portfolio Monitoring, and takes effect on screening runs after it is turned on. Inquiries screened before that are not reprocessed.

How to enable it

Reach out to your Moody's representative to have the option turned on for your firm. Review your own data first: the option suits data where the parenthesized text repeats or supplements the name, such as a nickname, suffix, title, status, jurisdiction, or a reference or account number. Test first if parenthesized text usually carry the main part of the name, such as a maiden or alternate surname, or a given name spelled out after an initial.

Unknown inquiries containing parentheses

An inquiry submitted with the inquiry type Unknown whose name contains parenthesized text is now assessed both with and without that text. If the two readings agree on whether the name is a person or an organization, the usual screening for that type applies. If they disagree, the inquiry is screened as both, which is a broader search that reduces the chance of a missed match.

This applies if either the person or the organization option to ignore parenthesized text is off. If your firm has both the person and organization options to ignore parenthesized text enabled, the text is removed before the name is assessed. No action is required.

CVIP Viewer

You can now view your firm's CVIP profile directly within the Grid UI. This gives you a simple way to confirm your current profile configuration at any time, without needing to reach out to your Moody's contact and wait for a response.

Once this access is enabled for your account, you will be able to open your CVIP profile from within the Grid UI and download it as a PDF for your own records or to share internally. This is a read-only view intended to give you visibility into your existing configuration; making changes to your profile still requires working with your Moody's contact, as it does today.

If you would like to request access to this view for yourself or a colleague, please reach out to your Moody's representative.

GRID ID Number Screening and Portfolio Monitoring

GRID screening now supports Identification (ID) Number Screening in addition to traditional name based screening. You can submit inquiries that include ID numbers through the API to screen against the GRID entity identification index, and monitor those ID numbers over time so you're alerted automatically when new or updated matches appear.

 What this means for you

You can now submit up to three ID numbers per inquiry, along with an optional ID type for each, through the API or RIB integration. Direct entry of ID numbers in the Grid UI is planned for a future phase, so for now submission is available through these integration channels only.

Inquiries can be screened by name, by ID number, or by both at once, and when both are used, your alerts bring together the name and ID match results for each entity in one place.

Once an ID number is submitted, it is automatically monitored going forward. You'll receive alerts whenever new or updated GRID records match it, without needing to resubmit.

You also have control over how screening and monitoring work for each inquiry, so you can decide whether to screen and monitor by name, by ID, or both, or simply use your firm's default settings.

Matched ID details are visible everywhere you already work, including your API responses, XML and PDF reports, and your review interfaces.

Because this feature is opt in, your existing name based screening will continue to work exactly as it does today unless you choose to enable ID Screening.

 Getting started

ID Screening and Portfolio Monitoring is available now as an opt in feature through the API and RIB. If you'd like to enable it for your firm, or need updated API schemas to support ID submission, reach out to your Moody's representative.
